How Much Have I Played Before Posting Comments Below and Giving A Score?:
Finished arcade mode with Gambit. Played survival and story modes.

My Comments:
This is basically a less-refined version of Tekken with more emphasis on special moves, and less focus on tight, responsive footsies, variations and combos.
Bad: Clunky animations, unresponsive controls. Limited combos. Relies too heavily on defence. Ordinary graphics. Stage objects (including walls, etc) get right in the way of the action (particularly on the Danger Room level). Character balance is highly questionable. Story starts well in the opening cinematic and then quickly devolves into nothingness.
Good: Large, interesting roster of playable characters, including a fair few that aren't playable in any other Marvel fighters out there. All characters play true to their comic book roots. The moves feel like the match the characters perfectly. Having Beast in the game is great! The stages are multi-tiered with interactive sections (smash through walls, get thrown off high ledges, etc... and they vary between tight close-quarters-only enclosures to massive open fields.

How Much Has Nostalgia Clouded My Judgment:
I love the Marvel universe. To be honest, without my nostalgic connection to Marvel this would be an incredibly ordinary title. With my love of Marvel though it becomes a tolerable game. It's clunky as anything, but the characters play true to their Marvel counterparts, so I still like it a little bit.

Will I Play This Game Again?:
Honestly I doubt it. I may return purely for the characters, but the actual gameplay will probably make any return sessions short-lived.
